Undergraduate Students

The Centre offers opportunity for undergraduate students to undertake research projects as part of their honours program. A variety of interesting projects under three research themes of the Centre are available. Visit the Research section of this website and learn more about available research projects. Contact the relevant Chief Investigator if you need further information.

Scholarships

The Centre offers generous scholarships of up to $10,000 to undergraduate students during their honours year. These scholarships are highly competitive and are awarded on merit to students with excellent academic background.  Contact the Chief Operations Officer of the Centre if you are interested in applying for the Scholarship.

Summer School

A one-week summer school on “Animal Navigation” was established in 2002 and has become an annual event. The goal is to introduce students from Australia and New Zealand to a fascinating and rapidly developing multi-disciplinary research field.  The Summer School is aimed at 3rd year, honours and PhD students of biology, psychology and robotics.  If you would like to enrol for the summer school please send:

  • A covering letter explaining why you are interested in Animal Navigation and a brief description of the research project you are currently working on or which you are planning to do in future. Please indicate in the letter whether you would need travel assistance.
  • Your CV, including your transcript.
  • One brief letter of reference.

Accommodation and meals are provided. Travel assistance is also available. Please note that there will be only 20 places in the Summer School and that the selection process may therefore be very competitive. However, the Summer School is a yearly event, so that there will be more opportunities to take part over the next few years.

We will notify you of the outcome of your application by 10 October 2008.
